ABOUT THIS CONCERT
For the first time, Musikwoche Hitzacker and the Mahler Chamber Orchestra present themselves at the baroque St. Georg Kirche in Gartow! In this innovative concert, organ, percussion, and other solo instruments engage in an exciting dialogue, casting music from several centuries in a new light.
Our very own concert lab – that's what we somtimes like to call the "Musikwoche Hitzacker", the renowned festival whose artistic directorship the MCO took over in 2024. Now in our second year, we have once again prepared ten exciting days of concerts and events, combining the familiar with the unfamiliar, and focusing on musical dialogue and new insights. We look forward to having you join us on this journey of discovery!
The organ of St Georg was built in 1740 by Johann Matthias Hagelstein.
