ABOUT THIS CONCERT
The first project with Yuja Wang as the MCO's Artistic Partner will be an exploration of styles. From Dvořák's lush and romantic Serenade to the modernist expression in Janáček's Capriccio, and the jazz-infused melodies of Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue, the pieces offer a diverse musical experience, spanning different periods and musical aesthetics. The challenging programme will be performed entirely without a conductor. Capriccio will be led by Yuja from the piano. The other pieces will be led by different members from the MCO, whilst they play their instruments.
