ABOUT THIS CONCERT
The first project with Yuja Wang as the MCO's Artistic Partner will be an exploration of styles. From Dvořák's lush and romantic Serenade to the neoclassical influences in Stravinsky's piano concerto, the modernist expression in Janáček's Capriccio, and the jazz-infused melodies of Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue, the pieces offer a diverse musical experience, spanning different periods and musical aesthetics. The challenging programme will be performed entirely without a conductor.
