August 2018
In early August the Mahler Chamber Orchestra travels north of the Arctic Circle, 67 degrees north to be exact, returning to the Nordland Music Festival in Bodø, Norway for chamber music and orchestral performances.
Both the versatility and the collective virtuosity of the Mahler Chamber Orchestra are on display in two festival performances, which take place on subsequent evenings at the Stormen Konserthus of Bodø and Valnesfjord Kirke. On the first evening, MCO musicians reunite with festival artist in residence, mezzo-soprano Anne-Sofie von Otter, to offer a classical programme of Mozart, Schubert and Beethoven. MCO concertmaster, Matthew Truscott, leads the performance.
Mahler Chamber Orchestra musicians will present a tour de force chamber music programme of Berio and Brahms on the following evening at Valnesfjord Kirke.
