ABOUT THIS CONCERT
Port Klezmer was founded by MCO clarinetist Jaan Bossier out of his interest in combining traditional klezmer music with influences from many other areas of music and culture, particularly with classical chamber music.
Port Klezmer has performed open-air on Lake Lucerne; at churches in southern France as part of the Festival d’Aix; and on tour in Italian theaters in cities from Bologna to Naples.
Jaan Bossier writes the klezmer arrangements for clarinet, viola, double bass and accordion, and the ensemble lives from the varied musical experiences of its individual members.
