School Concert
PROGRAMME
LUDWIG VAN BEETHOVEN: Symphony no. 7 in A major op. 92
- Concertmaster Matthew Truscott
- Moderator Martina Taubenberger
ABOUT THIS CONCERT
To be free – this idea fascinated Beethoven his entire life and also surfaces in his music. Beethoven even dedicated his Seventh Symphony to the victims of the power-hungry Napoleon.
With every freedom there is also an equal responsibility to be assumed. As such, this education concert is a confirmation of the MCO core principles. All MCO musicians assume an active role in the music-making. In this concert, which is led by concertmaster, Matthew Truscott, the orchestra performs Beethoven’s 7th Symphony. In doing so one of the most important aspects of the Mahler Chamber Orchestra is beautifully showcased: the ability to perform the symphonic repertoire in a chamber-music style. The concert will be moderated by Dr. Martina Taubenberger and attended by school classes from grades 11 – 13.
