The Mahler Chamber Orchestra (MCO) is happy to announce its new Artistic Partner for Immersive Experiences: 3D sound specialist Henrik Oppermann / Schallgeber.

Henrik Oppermann is an expert in the field of recording studio-quality audio on location for film, advertising, music industry clients and 3D sound installations. He has developed hardware and software audio applications for VR collaboration with leading sound partners, to deliver the best possible immersive sound. Together with the MCO he will explore the meaning of sound and music in both real and virtual space, all while discovering the possibilities of the immersive sound experience in application to classical music.

The first meeting between Henrik Oppermann and the MCO took place back in 2019, when they worked together on Symphony, a virtual reality project featuring Gustavo Dudamel. Since June 2020, the collaboration has continued in the form of three cutting-edge digital projects in a curated sequence exploring music, dreams and theatre of mind.
