The music of Mozart under the baton of Conductor Laureate Daniel Harding played a key role in the early development of the Mahler Chamber Orchestra’s sound and musical identity. Ten years ago, in the fall of 2006, Daniel Harding conducted this very programme with the MCO on a tour with concerts in Germany, Taiwan and Japan. On this tour with the last three Mozart symphonies, the Mahler Chamber Orchestra and Harding revisit this very special repertoire.
Daniel Harding has played a pivotal part in the history of the MCO: his role has evolved from Principal Guest Conductor to Music Director, Principal Conductor and finally to his current position as Conductor Laureate. Daniel Harding has helped to shape the sound and characteristics of the orchestra; he continues to work closely and regularly with the MCO.
This tour takes the orchestra to Dortmund, Verona, Vicenza and Naples.
