The Mahler Chamber Orchestra and Artistic Advisor Daniele Gatti bring their highly acclaimed Schumann symphony cycle to a close with this Spanish tour.
Schumann's four symphonies are monuments of the Romantic era, and are well-suited to the MCO's uniquely expressive playing. This cycle has been the central focus of the MCO and Daniele Gatti's collaborations since 2018, following a similar exploration of Beethoven's symphonic works.
Daniele Gatti and the MCO first worked together on a production of Berg's Lulu in 2010, leading to many more successful collaborations. In 2015, Gatti became one of the MCO's Artistic Partners, becoming Artistic Advisor of the Mahler Chamber Orchestra in 2016.
