Naomi Shaham

Naomi Shaham is a double bassist active both as an orchestral and chamber musician. Currently, she's a member of the Mahler Chamber Orchestra and a double bass teacher at the Conservatory of Amsterdam. Before joining the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, she performed as Solo bass player in the Gewandhaus Orchestra and was a member of the Budapest Festival Orchestra and the West Eastern Divan Orchestra. She plays regularly as a guest in the Bavarian Radio Orchestra and joins other leading European orchestras on a regular basis.

Recently, she recorded the Trout Quintet with the Busch Trio and toured with them around Europe. 

In 2024 she won three special prizes in the International ARD competition - Best interpretation of the commissioned piece, the Mozart Society of Munich prize, and the Munich Chamber Orchestra prize.
