What was the first MCO concert you ever attended?
In Ludwigshafen with Maria João Pires, conducted by Claudio Abbado, in December 2006. It was my birthday, and I had just found out on that day that I had gotten the job at the MCO. A perfect first concert.
What challenges does your daily work pose?
Putting together a functioning tour out of a tangle of information, possibilities and necessities.
Which moment with the orchestra will you never forget?
The wonderful party on the terrace of an Athens restaurant after a concert in November. 25 degrees, retsina, a bouzouki band, and Daniel Harding dancing the sirtaki with a rose between his teeth. And, of course, many, many concerts.
What you need in order to feel at home on tour?
A good book. And a good bed.
What makes a "perfect" concert?
When the spark travels from orchestra to audience, and the entire hall shares in the MCO's unique enthusiasm for music.
