ABOUT THIS CONCERT

Mahler Chamber Orchestra musicians gather in St. Denis to participate once again at Festival de Saint-Denis. A chamber music programme of Ravel, Debussy and Brahms accords listeners an artful blending of MCO wind and string timbres.

The festival is celebrating its 50th anniversary over a three-year period from 2017 – 2019. Last year the Mahler Chamber Orchestra also participated in the celebrations by presenting two orchestra concerts and additional chamber music performances.

An interesting note to this concert venue: the Maisons d'éducation de la Légion d'honneur was established by Napoleon to facilitate the education of young women whose father, grandfather or great-grandfather had been awarded the Légion d'honneur.
